Homeworld Academy: Fundamentals in Biotech Translation and Climate Impact

Are you a researcher who wants to make an impact but needs stronger techno-economic intuition and industry connections to move your work from the lab toward a market?

This 8-week remote course seeks to close that gap by training bioscientists on what matters on the path from scientific observation to widespread adoption.

The course is free, fully remote, and interactive, designed for early-career scientists, including postdocs, with curriculum informed by results in the 2026 Climate Biotech Community Survey.

Over eight weeks, participants will:

  • Identify high-potential climate applications for your biological research
  • Evaluate the technical bottlenecks standing between a result and a deployed technology
  • Understand what scale-up actually demands of a process
  • Build the communication skills that earn public trust and funder interest
  • Develop a Final Translation Project with structured support from the Homeworld team
  • Learn directly from mentors and guest speakers currently working in climate biotech

Whether participants continue in academia or engage in industrial careers, they will leave prepared to develop translational research programs, compete for impact-focused funding, apply to accelerator programs, and contribute to the deployment of biotechnology for planetary well-being.

Course update: We will offer an additional make-up session for participants who may miss the September 21, 2026 class in observance of Yom Kippur.

Apply to Homeworld Academy by August 25 here.
