This is a recent Perspectives paper published in Nature portfolio on the applications of Biofilms and Microbiome research, I am a co-author.
Biofilms are understudied in their ability for biomanufacturing, metabolite production and nutrient cycling to support applications in next-gen agriculture and medicine.
