Join Our Monthly Reimaging Biomanufacturing Journal Club

Hello All,

You are all invited to our Reimagining Biomanufacturing Journal Club next week which will take placed on 2025-02-11T15:00:00Z2025-02-11T16:30:00Z (Are we meeting yet?).

For this session, Aaron will be discussing the paper**:** ''Optogenetic control of transgene expression in Marchantia Polymorpha ‘’ .

Here is the summary:

This research reimagines biomanufacturing by developing a novel optogenetic system for controlling transgene expression in Marchantia polymorpha, a promising species for bioproduction. The study offers an alternative to the current chemically-induced systems by employing light-inducible promoters to minimize metabolic disruption during the overproduction of target compounds. This approach not only enhances the efficiency and precision of metabolic engineering but also offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional methods. By demonstrating the successful application of this optogenetic system for poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) production in M. polymorpha, the research expands the metabolic engineering toolbox and introduces new strategies for sustainable bioproduction.
